Anny, what a great idea! It makes complete sense. You had me -- up until the kefir part. Something about a milky-fizzy drink doesn't appeal, but then again, I was a big fan of egg creams growing up, so why not a pomegranate version?

Try using pomegranate concentrate (find them cheap at Grand Mart, for example) for making flavored sodas. I have a SodaStream soda water machine to make my own bubble water, then just add some pomegranate concentrate (and other flavorings) to get a refreshing drink. Latest success: Kafir yogurt plain from Trader Joe's (1/4 of the glass), pomegranate concentrate (just a "glug" as Jamie Oliver would say), and soda water. Stir to mix well and enjoy. Yummy.
